The New 52/Rebirth section of the site has been updated to now include the upcoming Sword of Azrael (Volume 2) Limited Series. The second is ‘Sword of Azrael’ (Volume 2), which has 4 different covers, one of which is a special foil by Azrael co-creator, Joe Quesada himself. This issue has a regular, and variant cover. Out today – two Azrael issues! ‘Dark Knight of the Soul,’ a one-shot collecting 3 shorts from Batman: Urban Legends is collected in this issue. Keep your eyes peeled at your local Walmart stores as I’m sure these will be a tough find. Quietly at midnight last night, McFarlane Toys released their Azrael as Batman figure, an exclusive to Walmart, online. Similar to other Most Wanted side missions, Azrael’s is quite short, with only a number of events contributing to its completion and upgrade points.

In both choices, Batman commends him and Azrael acknowledges he is able to act of his own free will. This choice is nearly identical to the choice where Azrael breaks the sword. However, there is an implicit choice that players may choose to make on their own, where the player can simply leave the clocktower without selecting one of the provided prompts. This choice lets him leave freely, and players will not be able to interact with him further. Other fans have chosen instead to break the sword and salvage Azrael as a character who becomes of sound mind in the end.
This lets players converse with him further while he is in lockup, and other villains may interact and converse with him also. Players are then able to drive Azrael to the GCPD lockup and add him to Batman: Arkham Knight’s collection of incarcerated antagonists. If players choose to kill Batman, Batman swiftly counters the blow and dispatches Azrael. Unlike most of Batman: Arkham Knight’s side missions, players are given these two explicit choices alongside an implicit choice, with the result impacting the character’s conclusion. One fan has prompted a fan discussion about this choice in Batman: Arkham Knight. As Azrael, players are then tasked with choosing whether to execute Batman with his sword, or break the sword instead. Each mission in the questline is comprised of brief trials where players engage in isolated combat encounters and cannot suffer a single hit. Heir to the Cowl is furthered as players locate burning bat symbols throughout Gotham’s islands. In Heir to the Cowl, players take control of Azrael, who is under the cultist influence of The Order, and compete to become Gotham’s next protector. Heir to the Cowl is a Most Wanted side mission in Batman: Arkham Knight. Rather, Batman: Arkham Knight’s Knightfall Protocol conclusion provides a reasonable excuse for players to complete side missions later in the game. For example, challenges and side missions that require the Batmobile are inaccessible until players lower bridge access to each island borough. Many side missions require that players progress to prerequisite points in the main campaign, but this pacing has rubbed many fans the wrong way.
